This is a little long, but well worth the read, IMO, even if it's just for the entertainment value.  So please, indulge me for just a few minutes.....

Travel worldwide and maintain control of your reef with the interface of the Digital Aquatics RKM-NET.  No need to leave your corals and inverts in the care of your dog sitter.  The best person to take care of your reef system is the person who knows it the best.....you!

Remember this scenario?  You plan your 10 day vacation to 'the islands'.  You stress out knowing your reef is going to be left in the care of the most reliable dog walker you know, old Mrs. Cornhusk.  :)  All she has to do is feed, topoff evaporated water, and if she's highly motivated she can do the water change challenge.   Your vacation is going smoothly until you land on your return flight home and make that long awaited phone call to Mrs. Cornhusk.  You immediately become alarmed when Mrs. Cornhusk informs you that everything went great.  She asks. 'You know all the food you left to be fed to the fish?  You think to yourself, it was enough for the next 12 years.  Well your fish just loved it, and if it wasn't the darndest thing, they were soooo hungry and looked so thin, they kept eating everything I put in the tank.  You're going to have to buy some more, because they ate it all.  The alarm suddenly goes off in your head.....DING, DING, DING, WARNING, WARNING, WARNING.  There was enough food to last until your 4 year old daughter goes to her senior prom.  This is not going to be good you say.

You rush home, and dart straight to your baby (I mean tank).  You're looking around the tank, but for some reason you can't see more than about 1"-2" visibility.  The water is cloudy, smelly, warm to the touch.  Apparently ole Cornhusker felt cold one night and figured the fish were cold too, so she turned up the heat for the poor little fishies.  ****FLASHBACK**** You suddenly recall an off the wall story told by some crazy guy from some website called, what was that, oh yeah, Saltwater Critters, who told you to add the Digital Aquatics RKM-NET Module to facilitate the transfer of all your reef information, data, parameters, lighting, temperature, etc in order to avoid the proverbial Mrs. Cornhusk from doing exactly what was described in the above scenario.

The above story was fictional, but it is certainly based on the accounts of untold reefers about the vision they saw when they returned from their 'stressfree' vacation.  DON'T LET THIS BE YOU.  Based on the amount of money we spend on our reef tanks it seems that an inordinate percentage of the expenditures go into the fun stuff, livestock.  I can't blame anyone for doing this.  It's a fun hobby and the fun primarily comes from the animals.  Lets face it, the reality is this, these animals are extremely delicate creatures.   If they weren't delicate and they were hardy, easy to care for, we'd find them in all corners of every ocean.  We don't.  They are very localized and some are only found on that one remote reef location.  The fact of the matter is, these tropical reef animals are unbelievably sensitive to minor fluctuations in temperature, salinity, pH, ammonia, and lots more, should I go on?  What I'm getting at is this, if you can keep thousands of dollars of fish, coral and invertebrates in your system, don't you think it's only fair to the critters in your charge that you provide them not only with a home that can appropriately house them, but also do it safely and without any concern for you being away from them for lets be realistic here, a whopping 10 days to two weeks?

Lets be smart about how we spend our hard earned dollar.  We recommend a reef controller for every system.  Now take it one step further and add the NET Module to keep you in constant communication with your reef.  Just imagine how relaxing your next vacation can be knowing you can virtually see your tanks well-being at any given time.

You'll receive all the critical data and the status of your system delivered to you with your morning coffee, in your email, on your cell phone or on your PDA.

Thank you all for listening to my rant :)  This was done with all good intentions and our hope to find everyone 'connected to their reef' in more ways than one.  - Russ
